Daniel attended SACS High School on a full academic scholarship and proceeded to matriculate with 7 distinctions. During his time there he won several prestigious awards, among them the Victoria and Van Staveren Scholarships and placed first in the Mintek National Science Olympiad. He decided to attend the University of Cape Town to read a BEng. in Chemical Engineering.

In 2007 Daniel founded LaunchPresence, a digital advertising agency based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and specializing in search engine marketing and optimization. LP grew from strength to strength and now boasts an impressive portfolio of work, with clients as far flung as London and New York.

Currently, he is engaged as the CEO of the fast-growing free SMS service, FSMS. This unique consumer-centric service re-distributes advertising revenue to provide free communication for the end user. FSMS now boasts over 150 000 registered users, 8 million monthly page views and has received significant investment from WoA.
