Elvin Tan is currently Head of Asia at Rdio Inc, and manages all aspects of launching Rdio in Asia. Tan was previously the Head of Business Development for Scoreloop Asia, now a company of Research In Motion. Tan was responsible for Scoreloop's partnerships with mobile operators, handset manufacturers, web and mobile content partners across Asia.
Previously, Tan was VP of Marketing and Business Development at AccessMedia Solutions, responsible for global business growth since its inception. Based in Beijing, Tan was instrumental in launching mobile music subscription services with notable mobile operators in Hong Kong, China, and Russia. AccessMedia was subsequently acquired by Access Co. Japan (TYO: 4813).
Prior to AccessMedia, Tan was Director of Business Development, Wireless Services at SonyMusic Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Tan managed the pan-Asian regional digital operations business. Before SonyMusic, Tan led Reciprocal Inc., Asia, the first Digital Rights Management solutions provider in Asia, enabling digital media commerce for content owners. Tan started his career in 1998 by founding Asia’s first music download website, AudioLoad.com, and raised venture funding from China.com.
Tan graduated with Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the University of Phoenix, Arizona.
