RajivKumarRockeTalkRajiv Kumar is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of RockeTalk, India’s leading and biggest mobile social network. 

Mr. Kumar’s articulated, strategized, designed and launched RockeTalk the revolutionary product in the genre of mobile technology domain in early 2008. He is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in raising capital and forming strategic partnerships for young operating companies; and has always been associated with path-breaking technologies. Rajiv Kumar is one of the founders of the Bluetooth Technology with three patents on Bluetooth registered in his name.

Team RockeTalk is bounded together by Mr. Kumar’s in-depth knowledge, industry experience and guidance especially in the area of Leadership development, Innovation strategizing and new initiatives.

Prior to RockeTalk, Rajiv Kumar founded Widcomm in 1999. Widcomm was an acknowledged technology and market leader in Bluetooth solutions. At Widcomm, Rajiv was the driving force behind the technology, product strategy and the market domination in the Bluetooth space.

Under his leadership, Widcomm became the acknowledged leader in Bluetooth software and solutions for segments such as cell phones, headsets, hands free car kits, laptops, PDAs and GPS devices. Some of the marquee customers of Widcomm were Dell, IBM, HP, Palm, Apple, Texas Instruments, Broadcom, Toyota, GM, Ford, Plantronics, HTC, Samsung and LG. Widcomm was acquired by Broadcom in 2005.

Before Widcomm, Mr. Kumar was a Founding Chief Technical Officer and Chief Product Officer at Uniden’s San Diego research and development center from late 1995 onwards. At Uniden, Rajiv was responsible for the development of the advanced wireless product line that included the first GSM phone in North America, GPRS modems, CDPD and 2-way pagers. These advanced products developed at this center contributed $300M sales in the year 1998 to Uniden.

Rajiv Kumar was also the Director Technology at Hughes Network Systems from 1992 to 1995. During his stay at Hughes Network Systems, he was one of the primary inventors of CDPD technology that was the first ever cellular wireless data deployed. The technology and products developed around CDPD were installed by all of the major operators in North America.
Rajiv Kumar holds several patents and has published textbooks in the wireless data area. He has earned BS and MS degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India. Rajiv Kumar is based in US and frequently travels to India.
