Kate Day, Social Media and Engagement Editor, Telegraph

KateDayTelegraphKate Day's first job was as a reporter for a local newspaper in California. She has spent the last four years working for The Telegraph's online team, including as Communities Editor where she oversaw reader commenting and blogging. She has used social media to build an audience around her photography blog, including running a weekly competition on Flickr, Twitter and Facebook. She now uses techniques developed on her blog to help other journalists and commercial teams engage with their audiences and in January 2011 was appointed as the Telegraph's first Social Media Editor.

Nick Jones, Head of Digital at Number 10 & Director of Interactive Services at COI

Nick-Jones--COI2Nick currently splits his time between two roles. He runs the Digital Communication team at Downing Street and the Cabinet Office where he is resposible for their respective sites and social channels. He is also director of interactive services at the COI. Nick’s team there delivers digital projects for public sector clients, such as the RAF, working with multiple suppliers. Nick also contributed to government guidance and standards on social media and digital engagement. Prior to joining COI he contributed to digital policy at the Cabinet Office and was seconded to run the Department of E-Government in Bermuda. A former Jupiter Research senior analyst he also co-founded New Media Age in 1994. Nick has a MA in Geography from the University of St Andrews. He tweets at @nickjonescoi
