The Venue 

The venues for #SMWF are always cool – we wouldn’t dare deliver you anything less. But this year’s North America venue promises to be cooler than ever. The two day event will take place at 82MERCER, New York City’s premier events location in the heart of Soho.

 The stunning location is a former manufacturing facility but with many of its original 19th century details restored to their former glory it is a venue that will be as talked about as the speakers and people you will be meeting at the show.


The Agenda

As ever our conference agenda will deliver top level content and insight. The #SMWF Keynote agenda will feature more case-studies than ever before giving you greater insight into what your peers are doing to lead the way in social media, the challenges they have faced and the ways in which they have overcome any problems.

Our conference team will also be getting stricter than ever with our speakers to ensure that the deliver unique, new content at the show to ensure that you really do get the very latest thinking and expertise in the world of social media.

As in previous years, in addition to the keynote agenda, delegates will also have the opportunity to tailor their day to include the topic streams that are most relevant to them and their area of focus. 

The Speakers

This year #SMWF’s speaker line-up will be more diverse than ever before featuring not only those who manage social but the CMO’s and CEO’s who have embraced social and put it at the core of their business agendas.

For too long social media has regarded as a secondary channel for some businesses and those that continue to not give it the focus it deserves are obvious.

Our speakers will share with you not only how they are embracing social but also why and the benefits it brings to them as a business.


The Debates

Following feedback this year we’ll be introducing more debate type content - ensuring we are able to explore controversial topics in further detail.

Chatham House rules will be enforced – ensuring you that although participants are free to use the information received, neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speakers, or participants can be revealed. We hope that this will further encourage openness and the sharing of information amongst the industry.


The Learning Labs

After great success at #SMWF Europe the #SMWF Learning Labs will be heading to New York. Working in groups delegates will devise a marketing strategy for a client or situation, with industry experts on hand to help drive the creative process.

The findings of each group are shared at the end of the session, with prizes on offer for the most innovative ideas. This is also a great solution for brands and companies looking to address particular problems within their business.


The Demo Area

The Demo area, our exhibition area at the show, is central to the event and offers the exhibitors and experts who can help you with all your social and digital marketing needs.

With food and drink served in this area you will have plenty of time between conference streams to learn more from the companies who can further evolve your social strategies. This will also serve as the key networking area for the show so have your business cards to hand!


The Networking

Networking is an important part of any event but at #SMWF it’s more integral than ever. Social marketing is after all about being social and therefore #SMWF offers the perfect opportunity to put bodies and personalities to people you may have only met virtually, whilst also enabling you to build your network yet further. As a high level, yet intimate event, you have the opportunity to meet over 300 of your fellow marketing leaders.


As well as the general networking opportunities during the event’s lunch and coffee breaks offered there will be problem specific meet-ups, a pre-event LinkedIn group, the Learning Labs and a networking drinks reception on the first evening of the show, allowing you to meet your new contacts in a more informal, relaxed environment.
